I understand ESSA (every student suceda act) replaced NCLB (no child left behind act). ESSA was suppose to reduce standardized testing and decouple testing and high-stakes decision making (I.e. going on to next grade, graduation or even teacher promotions/tenure decisions).
Still, education is very much centered around grades and scores for students and teachers. I would like to hear if high stakes testing (tests that determine important decisions) still exists in your school.
