Need help with my current situation

Im currently falling behind credits in school i have around 18 credits and I’m in 11th grade and i need 45 to graduate my school does offer credit recovery but i don’t know if that’ll be enough, the counselor did give me a option to transfer to a high school that help with students falling back on grades but i hate going to new schools, so i don’t think ill do that
I was wondering if online school was worth a shot or can nyc public schools can have credit recovery courses, i do want to hurry up and finish school since im like 18 and would like to go to college just to drop out to chase my dreams :/
