For God's sake, give them the "F," please!

Community College professor here. To all my Teacher friends (especially High School teachers): Please give students who earned an "F" the grade they deserve, not a "Pity C," or whatever your admin calls it. These "Grace, not Grades" & "Relationships are more important than a grade" philosophies, with everyone getting a Diploma as a participation trophy, is killing us as a profession, and has produced the most-entitled, least-academically-prepared group of students I have ever interacted with in my 21 years of teaching.
