hi, my friend has been caught cheating in exam(changed answers when exam papers were given back), he is 14. Does this really affect his career?

he is likely to never cheat again since he is a very well mannered student except for this once and usually is top scoring student but this year, he undergone surgery and didnt have to time to study hence the cheating...

will this affect much if he were to never cheat and get amazing results later on since he is only 14.
