For most of my life, my parents could never stress enough how valuable education is. I wasn't really the best student but I started to improve later through high school. I only went through one year of community college and finally realized I could really get into an even better university than I would have thought possible. So just like any American of that age, I would ask my parents if we could go tour some colleges; surprisingly, they would always have this passive-aggressive behavior and just simply brush it off. They just nonchalantly told me to go to the nearby university I got into but was far from my first choice. Soon enough, they would regard every institution of higher education in a very negative manner in complete contradiction to their so-called deep belief in education that it had be obviously blindsighted. Surely enough, I gave them Hell and went off on them like crazy. I should also add that both my parents and their parents have been educated at prestigious schools as well. I am so thoroughly confused.
