What is the greatest number of yrs someone could go to request a grade change?

To keep it simple and private, I’m basically asking for a grade to change from an F to a W.

I was going thru immense amount of duress at the time and didn’t have the emotional resources to think ahead about returning to school.

I’m in a better, more stable, place now. My final semester in college dropped my GPA pretty low (I was just an average student prior to that).

I have little earning power with my current AA liberal arts degree and would like to finish my BA (elsewhere) to pay off my remaining student loans from the previous college, have a career that’s more fulfilling and have the ability to save for retirement eventually.

The college advises that I only had the ability to make this request during the current or next semester according to their catalog and seems unwilling to help.

Are there steps I can take to obtain the W? They aren’t willing to view medical documentation etc.
