Plan ahead: how to prepare a 8yr old to change school when moving from Germany to the US?

We plan to relocate to the West Coast, likely to WA next August / September. Certainly would like to wait till my daughter finishes her 2nd year in ground school here in Germany.

So the big question is: how to prepare for such a move? I just can hope we have Redditors here who moved with family from Europe to the US and could provide helpful tricks and tips to have this transition as smooth as possible.

Also if this sub is a wrong choice, please let me know, education sounded like a good choice to have a discussion.
