What are people's opinions on the rise of e-books and TV screens in the classroom?

Local primary school requires all new students to use iPads for e-books, with physical books being phased out. In the classroom, instead of using a projector against a whiteboard, students have to look at a 65-inch TV screen during lessons.

I thought schools advocate LESS screen time.
