I am currently part of a committee working on a writing plan for our incoming 9th-grade students. I am looking for recommendations for research-based reading strategies to introduce to the committee. Our goal is to use common reading, annotation, and writing strategies in the ELA, science, and social studies courses for our freshmen. I work in an urban high school. I have tried Google Scholar and Power Library, which I will continue to do, but the amount of information is a bit overwhelming. If anyone has specific suggestions that they know have been effective, please share. Thank you!
