Are meta-cognition and logic topics explored in education?

Meta-cognition like cognitive biases, fallacious arguments, or meta-cognitive regulation.

I more specifically mean fallacies and biases in elementary grade children, as I know these ideas are explored in extracurricular classes like debate or psychology.

It seems to be consensus that 7-8 y/o is where meta-cognition and self reflection. As such 3rd or 4th grade could begin this kind of education.

I personally will intend to teach my children these things (I say intend because I do not have children, nor am I in a serious relationship for that to be an option). As I believe they are very important to being an effective member of society along with being an educated voter and student. I have spent a lot of time in the last year researching and learning fallacies and biases (because politics), and I urge everyone to do the same.

For children who understand the basics of formal logic I think games might be a great way to do it. My favorite example would be fallacy bingo with political rallies or debates.
