tl;dr: messed up with my education proper bad, and can't seem to find a way to fix it all.
Hey y'all.
I hope someone can shed a light on my current situation, as I have no damn idea on what to do, and have a feeling that I have no future for me..
A little backstory - I'm from Latvia, finished my first 9 years here, after that moved to the UK and studied in college there for 3 years (2013-2016) with my education being focused on IT, and with addition of math and English.
2016 comes, I have my GCSE's. I passed my English, but failed my math (got a D instead of a C). I couldn't be bothered back then to retake my exam due to my mental health.
Fast forward to 2021: Finally got my shit together, am ready and highly motivated to continue my educational path, but am unable to enroll to a university due to my lack of math exam from college.
I contacted a college in the UK to see if I can retake my math now, but they told me that they have about 6 different math exams now, and I have no idea which one I require.
Next, I contacted a school in Latvia, they told me that I should take my documents and get them translated (a procedure where they take education documents from abroad and translate them accordingly to our educational system's standards) , which I did. Turns out, I have "Unfinished Secondary Education".
Now here comes the fun part - I am unable to enroll into a university at the Netherlands, but I can either:
a) Spend a year in a so-called "Evening School", and do my exams, but due to the fact, that I have studied different subjects back in the UK, they aren't able to give me a diploma of finished secondary education.
or
b) Sign up for centralized exams here in Latvia for May 2022, to do my math and physics exams (physics is one of the subjects that is required for the B.Sc program I want to study).
I did contact the university yesterday, and they stated the following: " You need to have a full diploma. So obtain the 2 subjects and complete your secondary diploma are required. "
So, the main question is - did I F up irreversibly, or there is a glimmer of hope that something can be fixed/done?
